We love to focus on the achievements of our fantastic students, through our ‘Student Spotlight’ feature profiles. For our first Student Spotlight for 2015, we are proud to get to learn more about our recent Cert III and IV Graduate, Reece Bagnall.
Reece’s passion for fitness started at a young age, and his dedication has stayed with him throughout his journey with Onfit.
Reece has just graduated from his Cert III and IV with us and we are sure his continued journey in the fitness industry will be a long and successful one!
Our Trainer and Assessor Steph was so impressed with his Practical Assessment, she nominated Reece without hesitation. His balance of knowledge and personal skills was highly impressive.
What made you want to study fitness?
I have always had a passion for fitness and healthy living. As a school leaver I knew I wanted to be involved in the fitness industry so I could make a difference in the lives of others.
Growing up I didn’t enjoy video games as much as my friends. I would be seen throwing a cricket ball against the wall or kicking the footy around the park. Any spare moment was an opportunity for me to get outdoors to play sport. Still to this day, I enjoy the physical skills and achievements obtained from participating in a ‘real life game’ of sport instead of a ‘virtual game’. My passion for sports became a commitment for fitness and healthy living. During high school I began weight training and at this point in time I purchased some home gym equipment. It was a lot of trial and error to begin with. As time progressed I researched methods to not only improve my training but also my nutrition. I soon realized it was becoming a lifestyle. I grew out of the equipment I had been using and joined a gym. Training became and is my passion.
My inspiration for wanting to study with Onfit is derived from my passion for health and fitness, so that I can train others and support them in achieving their goals without the trial-and-error process. I make it my goal to provide a service that will inspire, motivate and commit people to transforming their lifestyles for the better.
How have you found the course so far?
My experience completing my Cert III and Cert IV in Fitness with Onfit has been great. Onfit has provided me with all of the necessary information that is required to be a qualified fitness professional. Upon completion of my Cert III and Cert IV in Fitness I feel equipped with the knowledge and ability to apply what I’ve learnt to support people to achieve their personal goals.
What do you hope to do after completing your certificates?
I am eager to begin supporting committed people in transforming their lives. I want to use the knowledge I have acquired to guide people through the steps in changing their life for the long term. I look forward to reaching the exciting benefits that are constant and simply become a part of their life.
My goal is to break down all the information available and apply the aspects that will produce results for the particular individual. Health and fitness is becoming a popular topic, many of those who are conscious about their health can become overwhelmed with all the information available and it can be difficult to know where to begin. I am ambitious to help people to achieve optimum results and save their time and energy along the way. I believe in providing the information necessary to those who are ready to embark on a fitness and health journey, will create an unbeatable platform to achieve results beyond belief.
I am committed to continuous education and passing on my knowledge to others to have them feeling empowered and committed to achieving their personal goals.
My motto I live by “Motivation is just the beginning, commitment will transform you.
Reece was nominated by Steph our Trainer and Assessor, after she marked his Practical Assessment. This is what she had to say about him:
“Reece’s Certificate IV in Fitness practical assessment was by far one of the best deliveries of a practical that I have ever had the pleasure of marking. Reece’s client interaction, and attention to techniques and posture were exemplary throughout the practical tasks, there was even some educational points thrown in for his clients. It was great to see Reece was familiar with the exercises and techniques prior to demonstrating and instructing them to his clients, very professionally delivered. Overall, Reece presented fantastic communication skills, demonstrations and instructional cues – the makings of a great trainer!”
Congratulations Reece on your fantastic work so far, we wish you the best of luck with your fitness career!
