Why did you choose to study with Onfit?
I had previously worked in health and following a break wanted to retrain in a different area. I knew that I wanted to do Allied Health Assistance and it was just a case of finding a reputable RTO. I was new to Brisbane and saw the advertisement for Onfit online.
On contact I found the staff very friendly and the sign-up process was all very straight forward.

What have you enjoyed about your experience studying with Onfit?
I’ve really enjoyed working at my own pace and knowing that support was there if I needed it. I had a health background and so a lot of the content was familiar to me. I think this helped and I was really happy that Onfit assessed my prior study and gave credits where appropriate.
The submitting of assignments was very straight forward and there were options for practical assessments if students were unable to get to onsite practicals.
What do you plan to do with your qualifications / what are you doing after graduating?
I am very fortunate, to have secured a part-time position at one of the large teaching hospitals in Brisbane.
I am a mature aged student and so this is particularly exciting for me.
It is never too late and I would encourage anyone seeking a new direction maybe later in life, to go for it!

Why did you choose to study with Onfit?

Onfit provides the flexibility needed to study whilst still living a busy life day to day. Onfit also gives you plenty of time to complete the courses. I finished my Cert IV in one year, with 6 months’ time still available to me if needed, so there was no need to stress about strict time scheduling, as I could just fit in study according to my work schedule. When I got stuck, the e-tutors were great in responding in a timely manner and efficiently answering/dealing with my queries and challenges.

What have you enjoyed about your experience studying with Onfit?

My study was self-paced and encouraged self-motivation and persistence. I enjoyed learning the interesting and detailed content that the Allied Health Cert IV course contained. The course always had varied methods of assessment and a vast supply of resources which were great learning tools. I also enjoyed completing my Boxing for Fitness course, which provided me with another skill to use when personal training my clients – it only took me one month, so it didn’t interrupt my Certificate IV at all and I had completed a new qualification in no time!

What do you plan to do with your qualifications / what are you doing after graduating?

I have already gained part-time employment as a Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant, just one month after finishing my course. I have been given the opportunity to work in a hospital, working two days in the acute ward and one day in the rehabilitation centre; meaning my other two days of the week are available to continue my current Personal Training endeavours.

Kelsey Taurins
Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance & Boxing for Fitness

It was a very interesting and a valuable experience while studying for my Cert IV in Allied Health Assistance course from Onfit Training College. I got to learn a lot and it really gave me a good grounding in the basics. It enabled me to think about the ways and means to interact professionally at the workplace with my colleagues and patients. I also learned more about the areas which need special attention and focus from my side. I found the course challenging and also very rewarding at the same time. I always got the assignments corrected quickly along with lots of positive feedback from the tutors. I have received tremendous educational support from my tutors – Mr. Jeff Cook and Mr. Dan Darcy.

The fees were very reasonable and I could study and submit my assignments at a comfortable pace. I would highly recommend studying at Onfit Training College to my friends and colleagues.

Thampy Manfred
Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance

What motivated you to study the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance? I was always interested in providing support and assistance to patients alongside a qualified health professional, a career in Allied Health offers me the chance to make a real difference. Gain the knowledge and skills to implement treatment plans, perform a range of administrative and clerical duties, and communicate effectively with health professionals and patients of all ages. Learning directly from Allied Health professionals with practical work placement and gain the hands-on skills I need to work confidently in the industry.

What was the best part of your studies? The best part of my studies was to see every day and every week how much I have progressed knowing there is always someone at Onfit Training College that can help with any issues.

What did you find challenging? It was very challenging, all the new subjects, sentences, words, abbreviations that I never knew or heard before.

Got planned for the future now that you’ve graduated? Working as an exercise physiologist

Do you have any advice for someone that is considering studying a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance? If you consider a career in allied health! you must love and enjoy helping people.

I started the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance course in April 2017 and didn’t really know what to expect. The course notes and resource book provide very detailed information which is a great help when completing the assignments.  I wasn’t sure how to go about the workshop/role play sections as I’m based in Sydney, but I’ve been able to video my assignments and submit them through to Onfit through Dropbox  It’s been a huge help as a single working mum who is also trying to study! My study placement at CPA was awesome and really tied in what I have learnt, with what would be expected of me in the workplace.  My final assignments have been easier and made so much more sense after doing that practical element.  I would highly recommend the course and Onfit.

I was recommended to Onfit by a friend, Chris Miller [Onfit Graduate]. The delivery is seamless. They wish no guessing about what is required of me. The amount of information supplied, fully helps with answering assessment tasks. The resources and slides are comprehensive and accurate. The communication with all staff at Onfit is timely, professional and always answers my questions. I am a personal trainer running my own business. I wish to expand and become a healthy lifestyle coach which includes mindset and nutritional coaching. I will need to do continued studies for this.

“I did shop around before settling on Onfit, I looked at the cost, the standard of material and also judge the organisation on their responses. I was super impressed on all three of my criteria, staff got back to me quickly, they were supportive, their cost was very competitive ( in fact they were the most well priced as I compared them with other well know organisations such as TAFE).

The team were really helpful with some RPL as well. Again the RPL process was great and the staff most helpful.

Probably the thing I enjoyed most was the level of professionalism the course offered. I am very fussy when it comes to education as I have studied nursing, exercise science and have a masters in disability rehab, I would certainly put the content up there with some of my higher education studies. I learnt a lot from the course it was comprehensive and I like that Onfit maintained and expected a high from me as a student. Certainly no shortcuts by the education team. I have just graduated and already have been approached by 2 organisations for a position.”

“After graduating from Onfit I have used my qualifications to start my own personal training business, at Anytime Fitness Toombul, which gave me the flexibility to pursue my passion to play Rugby Union at an elite level.

Since then I have opened a boutique performance training studio, Maxxfit Performance Studio, in Fortitude Valley and my own Anytime Fitness 24hr fitness centre in Kallangur on the northside of Brisbane.

I have been able to achieve these things in the industry from hard work and the knowledge I received from the courses with Onfit. If you’re passionate about helping people transform their lives, then studying with Onfit is for you.”

When I first found out about the opportunity to learn with Onfit Training College I was super excited for a few reasons.

Firstly, the fees are significantly less than other courses of the same curriculum.  And secondly, as a busy mother I could choose to study at the times that were suitable for me and my family.

Studying with Onfit, I was able to refresh my skills, take on a brand new avenue and a career change. My aim was to step out of the corporate environment and get outdoors to train like minded people.

Home based learning was the simple and easy choice for me and with the support and service Onfit has provided to me personally, I have enjoyed gaining my qualification immensely.

“The staff and tutors are very friendly, patient and helpful always willing to help you with your studies and assessments. I have enjoyed the whole process and look forward to commencing my next course, Cert IV in Weight Management”

I really liked how I could do my studies online at my own pace and if I needed any help that you guys were only a click away and explained everything really easy for me to understand, I also liked the fact that I could pay my course off in payments as alot of places wanted the cash up front, When I spoke with Charis at the start she didn’t come across pushy and just wanted money as I have had experience with other places that I looked at doing my studies.
