Meet Onfit Trainer & Assessor, Victor Mesquita

Victor Mesquita is one of our dedicated Trainers and Assessors at Onfit, bringing over 15 years of experience in the fitness, performance, and rehabilitation space. Originally from Brazil, Victor has built his career across both countries, combining hands-on coaching experience with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for lifelong learning.

Throughout his career, Victor has worked with a wide range of clients – from general population and older adults to athletes – helping individuals improve performance, recover from injury, and build long-term, sustainable health habits.

Education has always played a central role in his journey. Victor holds multiple qualifications across fitness, business, and leadership, and has recently completed his second degree: Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology. This has allowed him to expand into more clinical settings, supporting clients with chronic conditions and complex health needs through structured, evidence-based exercise.

From Preparation to Performance: Lessons from the International Stage

One of the standout moments in Victor’s career came in 2025, when he had the opportunity to work with the Australian U13 Futsal National Team during their World Cup campaign.

The preparation phase took place in São Paulo, where the team faced some of Brazil’s most recognised clubs, including Santos, São Paulo, and Corinthians, providing a high-performance environment that challenged the players both physically and mentally and set a strong foundation for the competition ahead. The tournament itself was then held in Fortaleza, where the team competed against international national teams including Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Canada, and Mexico, with a major highlight being a strong performance against France that showcased the team’s development and resilience on the international stage.

For Victor, the experience went far beyond performance. It reinforced the importance of preparation, recovery, teamwork, and adaptability under pressure – lessons that now directly influence how he coaches, prescribes exercise, and supports his students.

Personal Life

Alongside his professional work, Victor values his time outside of the industry. Living on the Gold Coast, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their 7-year-old daughter, making the most of the lifestyle the region offers and maintaining a strong balance between career and family life.

Supporting Students Beyond the Classroom

Victor’s message to students is simple: stay open to opportunities and experiences.

“Early in my career, I believed I would only enjoy working with athletes, but through exposure to different populations – particularly older adults – I discovered a new passion. Today, working in rehabilitation and supporting individuals with complex health needs is one of the most rewarding parts of my career and a key reason I pursued Exercise Physiology. You never truly know what you will enjoy until you give it a go.”

Victor also runs a bilingual YouTube channel, Prof. Victor Mesquita, where he shares practical insights to support students and fitness professionals – particularly those looking to build a career in Australia. His content covers topics such as navigating the fitness industry, improving communication skills, and understanding what to do after completing fitness qualifications, helping students bridge the gap between study and real-world application.
